Many things change when airlines merge or join/leave alliances

Old marketing (codeshare) agreements are ended, and new ones start. These must be simulated with care, to ensure the most likely agreements are simulated (not all, everywhere)

Flight schedules are changed. Airlines adjust schedules to properly connect with each other.

Pricing and Revenue Management needs to be more carefully planned and co-ordinated to take the benefit of more traffic and better connectivity.
